UVCC is excited to announce a generous donation from the Upper Valley Medical Center (UVMC) Community Benefit Fund, giving a significant boost to the UVCC Education Foundation’s $3 million 50th Anniversary Campaign. This support helps ensure every student has access to the hands-on, career-focused learning opportunities they deserve.
The donation provided funding to purchase a variety of items, including hospital equipment for UVCC’s Medical Careers Academy, weights and exercise equipment for the Sports Medicine program, as well as an ambulance simulator for the First Responders Academy. These resources will give students real-world experience as they prepare for careers in healthcare and emergency services.
“Supporting UVCC is an investment in the future of healthcare in our region,” said Kevin Harlan, President of Upper Valley Medical Center. “By helping provide students with up-to-date, industry-standard equipment, we’re ensuring they receive the training they need to succeed while also building a strong pipeline of skilled, job-ready professionals for UVMC and other healthcare providers in our community.”
“This donation from the UVMC Community Benefit Fund demonstrates the incredible support our community provides to our students,” said Jason Haak, Superintendent of UVCC. “The equipment they’ve provided is exactly what students will use in the field, giving them the skills and experience they need to succeed.”
UVCC and UVMC have built a strong, ongoing partnership. Beyond this donation, UVMC regularly engages with students through work-based learning opportunities and serves on advisory boards, helping shape programs to meet industry needs. Together, UVCC and UVMC are not just providing
equipment or funding—they’re giving students the skills, confidence, and support they need to succeed in the workforce. The UVCC Education Foundation’s 50th Anniversary Campaign focuses on three key goals: removing financial barriers so all students can participate fully; providing tools and experiences to prepare students for next-level success; and continuously enhancing programs to stay aligned with industry demands. This donation directly supports those pillars, helping ensure UVCC students are ready for meaningful careers for years to come.
